Women’s Yogic DBT Group Experience
DBT is a set of skills that can help us learn to become more aware of our emotions and how to regulate them, and to see our experience through the gaze of our internal wisdom, which helps us to change challenging behavior that we feel limits our lives and relationships.
This 8-week DBT group includes principles from a yogic understanding designed to incorporate yoga and specific sharing practices into learning the DBT skills. Most often, DBT groups are purely psycho-educational. This group combines DBT skills and homework assignments with a focus on a shared understanding of one another to help create a safe group environment and to make exploring the skills a fulfilling process.
Each 2.5-hour group will incorporate time for yogic movement and mindfulness practice, a uniquely designed check-in period, and time for learning and practicing DBT skills. Each 8-week group focuses on a single module: mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance or interpersonal effectiveness. The series takes six months to complete in full. Participants can participate for the full series, or for one committed 8-week module. Learn DBT in a way that is designed to help you create healthy relationships in a friendly setting.
Next group starts: March, 2022

What Do I know about DBT and Women’s Groups?
I have taken over 60 hours of DBT facilitation training, and have been facilitating yearlong DBT groups with a varied demographic since 2015. I have over fifteen years of experience participating in and running yogic women’s groups that focus on helping us learn how to: find enlivenment and peace in our bodies, honor the cycles in our bodies and circumstances, and experience radiance and joy in nourishing the feminine side of our nature. I learned these practices from a wide variety of spiritual and yogic feminine wisdom teachers, including Sofia Diaz and Christianne Pelmas.
